What has the trail helped me to understand
1. It has helped me to understand that Singapore is working very hard to sustain water to ensure sufficient supply of water is catered to the country. Singapore was once a country that faced droughts and pollution, and water sustainability is crucial to the success of Singapore. Also, the reservoir is being very well taken care of,(eg. litter trap) to make sure the water is clean and of good quality to be catered to the country.

2.The ABC(Active, Beautiful, Clean Waters) Water Programme is turning into a reality.People use the reservoirs for outdoor activities like fishing, kayaking or sailing.(Active)The waters of the reservoir are very clean, and also acts as a decoration to the nature as it is a nice scenery.(Beautiful) Also, the network of drains, canals and reservoirs are turned into beautiful and clean streams, and they are clean and safe for human contact and drinking. It is pumped to a treatment plant to be fully disinfected, then pumped to homes, industries, schools, buildings etc. for daily use. Also, this water is used as a water supply for the plants in Lower Seletar Reservoir.(Clean Waters)This shows that the ABC Waters Programme is turning into a reality and this plan will benefit the future of Singapore.

Summary
We should play a part in keeping the reservoirs clean as the water we are drinking comes from the reservoirs in Singapore. If we dirty it, how can we have clean water for our daily needs? At least, we should not litter into the reservoirs as littering pollutes the water. If we see any litter, we can pick it up and throw it into any nearby rubbish/recycle bins.If the litter is in the reservoir, we can volunteer to enter the reservoirs to clear up the litter. Also, if no one is willing to volunteer, we can encourage students to clean the reservoirs for CIP hours in school. Also, we can place more rubbish bins around the reservoir so that people would not be so lazy as to dump their litter into the waters as there would be many rubbish bins around. In addition, during activities like kayaking or sailing, many people spit into the waters. We can hire people to patrol the waters to make sure that people do not spit, and fines would be set for people who do so.This way, the reservoir waters will be clean and healthy for the consumption of the people in Singapore.
The ABC trail has put in place various different activities for increasing our personal knowledge. People of Singapore are able to go visit the Lower Seletar for recreational activities such as jogging. kayaking and many fun and relaxing activities. You can also participate in a trail to obtain more great information and new skills. Go over there and enjoy the beautiful scenery. Parents can also bring their children along for a family day, bonding together. The kids will definitely enjoy themselves. This allows them to bond together as a family encouraging to visit the reservoir more often. The beauty of nature could also be seen.Since Singapore has shortage of water resources so we buy water from other countries such as Malaysia. But when we receive rainwater, we need to keep it clean in our reservoirs and that is the aim of the ABC waters program. The different activities planned has taken our understanding of ‘what is clean water’ to a higher level. Through this series of activities , we have learnt to better appreciate the importance of water towards our daily lives.

More Poems

Water is pure,
Water is natural,
Water is healthy,
Water can help all

Water is simple,
Water is free,
Water can help the lives,
The lives of you and me

Water is used every day and it is left running.
African children need water and we waste it.
The world would be nothing without water.
Every human being needs water to survive.
Rivers are being contaminated by many people.
Conserving water will mean a better future.
Our world must consider conserving water.
No one wants to conserve water but we must!
Someone will rise and convince people.
Even if more people conserve water, it still won't change.
Really, poor people cry for water every day.
Value water! Without it you will die.
A lot of people think we don't need water
Together we can make a difference.
I try to conserve water.
Other people should conserve water tool
Now everyone can make a change.

Water is life.
At home, at school, everywhere, it is needed.
To keep it around, we need to keep it clean.
Even those nasty sewers.
Reading a book won't keep it clean.
Conserving it and purifying it, will keep it around.
Only the people can conserve it.
Never give up. If we try, we will succeed.
So give it a try. Keep it alive!
Everyone needs water.
Rely on it.Yes, but not for long.
Various amounts are cleaned.
Any way or any how, we need to keep it around.
Together we can try to conserve our water.
In any landmark, water is there.
Only if we care.

Night or day. We will conserve life.
